I am...

Warning this may cause you to see yourself in a whole new light...or I'm praying it will
My view of myself: I'm too dark. I'm not small enough. I can be rude especially when I have my headphones in. I'm selfish in my quiet time. Most times I'm way too critical on myself.

God's view of me: he loves me just the way I am.

How do you view yourself? How do you think God views you? Take some time and really dwell on those two questions. This blog in particular has been wrecking my heart ever since I got an email from my adopted mom here at school with the Dove beauty sketches video. I want you all to go watch that video! I'm going to post it at the bottom of this blog because it kind of really changed my view on beauty which thus led me to spiritual beauty.

Have you ever heard someone say "it's what's on the inside that counts"? I am not going to lie when I heard it for the first time in middle school I was like that's just a sweet way of calling someone ugly, but then God led me to  1 Samuel 16:7- But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." It's not about what you look like on the outside to God because all he is focused on is what is on your heart and in your mind.

God longs for the real us! The us that can't be compared to what we see in the mirror or on the scale. Look at your circle of friends what are they like? Are you hanging with people that lack substance in Christ? What is their heart like? Are they pushing you in the right direction? Let me tell you something you can't fake and front anymore. Start by evaluating the real you! What's in your heart? Are you making sure that everything you do flows from it and not stemming from a place of hurt, guilt or pain? These are questions that I had to really ask myself.

I believe it is so true when they say beauty is in the eye if the beholder. God is our beholder, he created every image that we see as well as our perception. You are beautiful! Say it out loud "I am beautiful" God loves you he has desire for you that no man can touch but remember when this week has you feeling ugly say "God loves me therefore I love me" and smile when you say it so you mean it!
